Majestic Land: A Harmonious Blend of Architecture and Nature

Qidi Design Group's Award-Winning Landscape Design Inspired by Chinese Poetry

Inspired by the poetry of Xu Zhimo, Qidi Design Group's Majestic Land is a landscape design project that beautifully merges architecture and nature. This award-winning design embodies the harmony of human and nature, presenting a unique exploration of landscape and community.

The Majestic Land project, located in Gongyi, Zhenzhou Province of China, covers a total of 39,000 square meters. The project commenced in October 2019 and was completed by February 2020. The design was inspired by the concept of living in the Cold Emerald Mountain, as depicted in the works of Chinese contemporary poet, Mr. Xu Zhimo. The theme of boundlessness is reflected in the diverse layers of mountain vegetation, continuous hills, and the intimate connection with local nature.

The unique properties of the design lie in its sustainable use of natural resources. Natural landscape stones are split artificially and embellished in the field, leaving traces of human intervention. The still water and surrounding landscape reflect each other, creating a mirrored wonderland. Greenery is abundant, with shallow thatch and paving pieces interpreting the vitality of life.

The design realization technology employed by Qidi Design Group is noteworthy. The waterscape is surrounded by unique red tiny stones, original rocks from the surrounding mountain. By connecting the material with the surrounding environment, the design preserves and promotes the culture and spirit of the region. The most primitive approach is used to make collage after polishing, merging local site characteristics and carrying the history of locals.

The design interaction is another aspect that sets Majestic Land apart. The entrance features high-low scattered metal grille and elegant GRC white ribbon, creating a sense of undulating hills and mountains. The winding lane guides the visual sight and route, with high density of forests, ornamental grass, and terrain on both sides of the lane. The architecture is built on the mountain, as a cube box embedded decoration. The hidden corner of the building facing the south, and the main building exposed facing the north, give completely different visual feelings.

The project faced several design challenges, particularly in respecting and preserving the spirit and origins of beauty in landscape design. Through exploring the close relationship between landscape and community, the design team was able to create a harmony of man and nature. The design's success is evidenced by its Silver A' Landscape Planning and Garden Design Award in 2022, a prestigious accolade rewarding top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs.

In conclusion, Majestic Land by Qidi Design Group is a testament to the harmonious coexistence of architecture and nature. It is a landscape design that not only respects and preserves the beauty of its environment but also enhances it, creating a tranquil and luxurious space for its future owners.
